Hi, it's me, Karen. Welcome to Squire Photography.

So you found your way here, I had better tell you a little about me. I am a mum to four beautiful children. I absolutely love being their mum. Prior to being a mum I was a primary school teacher. I am a wife to my husband, Michael, who is a Project Manager. He hates having his photo taken which is bad luck for him being married to a photographer! I am an animal lover and yes I am the type of person to stop you in your tracks so that I can pat your dog.

Natural light photography is my jam. I live in the country-a little town by the name of Teesdale. I have my own photography studio within my home. We have been in Teesdale for 12 years. Michael designed and built our home with his dad and mine. Growing up, I thought I would be a city slicker but we love the relaxed lifestyle of country living.

I usually edit photographs in the evening when my little ones are tucked up in bed. During the day you will find me wrangling children for school/kinder runs, preparing snacks, sipping lukewarm cups of tea, being watched and followed by my mummy's boy groodle, oh, did I mention snacks for the toddler, feeding our chickens, perusing our veggie garden or busting out the hedge trimmer to neaten up the plants in our garden. It gives me great satisfaction to see a beautifully trimmed shrub! Ha!

 

I'm not much of a TV kind of person, so if you ask me about the latest craze on Netflix, I will probably stare blankly in your general direction. I am, however, an online shopping kinda gal. A package a day keeps the doctor away...right?!

I love photographing people and capturing families as they grow. I like to keep things simple when photographing you and your loved ones; ensuring that I am able to capture relaxed, beautiful images during your session.

​

What type of photography do I capture?

Maternity, newborn bubs, babies, children, family and business branding shoots. 

Oh, and I'm a sucker for dogs. Fur babies are always welcome for photos (and cuddles).

Product and business photography - collaborations welcome.

​

I am up to date with my whooping cough vaccine, flu vaccine and Covid-19 vaccine. I am also qualified in Infant and Child First Aid and CPR. Health and safety are my top priorities when photographing anyone, especially little people.
